Making Spinal Paralysis Curable

The Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation is a privately funded non-profit organisation which follows the principal aim of promoting research worldwide in order to expedite scientific and clinical progress towards a putative cure for Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Paralysis.

Spinal cord regeneration following an injury was long considered to be impossible. It was not until the 1980’s that groundbreaking experiments of pioneering researchers gave cause for hope for the first time. This gleam of hope lent wings to the scientific world and lead to a series of important discoveries in the years to follow. Since then, successes that had previously been considered impossible have been recorded independently and multiple times in animal models. However, the breakthrough has not yet reached the clinic. The Wings for Life Foundation promotes basic and clinical research and international coordination of the various research initiatives.

Donations will exclusively be used to sustain valuable research projects which have been carefully selected by world leading scientists and clinicians. All running and overhead costs of Wings for Life are specifically covered by industrial funding. This ensures that every single Euro/Dollar that you may donate will be used to support research only!

The way is in sight and the goal is clearly defined:
