Too much traffic

Andreas Zuber arrived in Silverstone in excellent shape from Croatia after a few days of serious fitness training in the heat. He was feeling very confident after the FMSI team's results in Monaco and his first eight points of the season, aiming to build on that this weekend. In addition, Andreas' memories from Silverstone are still vivid with his win of the feature race that he won in 2007 from pole, leading from start to finish, a perfect race where he was able to show his potential and that makes Silverstone his favourite track.

In the first morning free practice session, on the 5.141 km long track, Andreas Zuber, one of 4 drivers to have qualified in the top 6 at every race this year (with Grosjean, Petrov and

Hulkenberg) prepared for the 36-lap race 1 and set the second fastest lap with 1.27.025 and was in the pits as the red flag was shown after Huelkenberg's crash in the first part of the session.

Zuber will start the race one from a 14th position after a tough qualifying session.

Andreas said, "The half hour of qualifying here is very tough. I focused and I knew that there was only one way to go and needed to take care of the tyres for the one fast lap. But there was traffic and from the beginning of the qualifying session and it was difficult to get into a rhythm. I clocked  1.27.106 and could not improve because of traffic, my time slower than that in second practice, which is further than I would like from pole. What an unexpected result. Even if I know that the race is long and the track a difficult challenge, it would have been better to start from higher on the grid for tomorrow's feature race."
