Andreas Zuber had to retire after fab Andreas Zuber had to retire after fab start at sprint race in Valencia

The young Styrian overtook four opponents before a crash ended his race

Andreas Zuber enthused GP2-fans with a fabulous start at today's sprint race in Valencia. The Moser Medical Group-driver immediately got into gear and made up four positions. But then the space became too narrow in the first right turn and the Piquet Sports-driver crashed into the car in front of him which resulted in a broken front suspension and spelt the end of the race for him.

"In the first fast right turn I went on the inside but suddenly Michael Herck swerved in in front of me. I didn't have any room to manoeuvre and even though I hit the brakes I couldn't prevent the crash", explains Zuber.

But Andreas Zuber wasn't the only prominent competitor on the winding town circuit of Valencia who had to retire prematurely at the 16th run to the GP2 series 2008. His fate was shared by, amongst others, Bruno Senna, Sebastien Grosjean or Zuber's teammate Pastor Maldonado.

Following the - especially when compared to his second place in the main run in Budapest - somewhat sobering results of Valencia, the 24-year-old Styrian will now focus on the coming runs in Spa-Francorchamps/Belgium on September 6 and 7.

"I want to reach good good results at the remaining two runs and hope to make a positive mark by good performances prior to the end of the season. And, last year in Spa, I was after all faster than Timo Glock in the qualifying ", says the Styrian.
